Super Simple Appetizers That Impress

We have taken two simple appetizers and made them gourmet. These will leave your dinner guest impressed and asking for your recipe. However, the truth is, there is NO recipe needed!

Our first guest-impress appetizers is a simple cheese and cracker plate.

Smoked Salmon and Pickled Red Onions

Ingredients:

  • Multigrain Cracker of Your Choice
  • Whipped Cream Cheese (Trader Joes)
  • Smoked Salmon
  • Capers
  • La Cebolla Roja's Pickled Red Onions
  • Fresh Dill

Directions:

This is as easy as stack and plate. First, start by spreading a spoonful of the whipped cream cheese onto each cracker. Next, gently roll your smoked salmon into a loose roll. Your salmon should have come pre-cooked and pre-sliced. Top with pickled red onions, and few capers and some fresh dill.

This next classic is one that you are familiar with already. We've just dressed it up and made it exciting again.

Deviled Eggs With Chopped Pickled Red Onions

Ingredients:

  • 12 large eggs (hard boiled)
  • 1/4 cup Mayonnaise (we like Vegenaise)
  • 1 Tbsp. Mustard
  • La Cebolla Roja Pickled Red Onions (chopped)
  • Paprika
  • Salt & Pepper

Directions:

Start by halving your hard boiled eggs length wise. Spoon out the yolks and place in a mixing bowl. Add to your mixing bowl 1/4 cup mayonnaise, 1 Tbsp. mustard, salt and pepper to taste. *Pro Tip add and little liquid from your pickled red onion jar to your mixture. This will thin it out and add another layer of flavor. Mix all ingredients together until all clumps are gone. To finish, spoon your yolk mixture into each egg white, filling past the brim. Top with shopped pickled red onions and paprika.
